Food is important round here. Growing, cooking, preserving, sharing, eating… big part of village life. Being here has revived all my memories of my mother pickling, bottling, freezing and cooking all the produce that my father grew back in the 1960s, when we lived in rural West Sussex and had three orchards and a big veg patch.
